Call For Paper Title
Accelerated Bridge Construction: technologies and strategies to reduce overall project delivery and on-site impacts
Call Description

A paper session focused on research and current topics regarding the use of Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) technologies and strategies is proposed. These methods are becoming more popular with owner agencies due to the benefits they can provide with the delivery of the bridge program. Adopting ABC methods into a project, or into a program of projects, can help owners who are faced with the need to reduce onsite disturbances in order to address existing traffic conditions and other site-related constraints, such as limited access; right-of-way; utilities; and other environmental and permitting needs.

The use of prefabricated bridge elements and systems (PBES) technologies, when used with other ABC strategies, can result in reductions to onsite impacts and improvements in construction efficiencies, safety and durability. A specific focus on ABC technologies and strategies in the areas of policy adoption and planning, public communication, engineering and materials, and construction and contracting is sought.
