In this simulive session at the Centennial TRB annual
meeting the panel will showcase and discuss advances in Travel Behavior
research, inspired by innovative methodologies, big data, latest technologies,
and efficient policies that affect travel behavior. The panel will also discuss
the path forward to address new and revived challenges (e.g., pandemics, transit

Show Description
It has been argued that the complex consumer choices
generate various physiological responses (e.g. neurological, cardiovascular, and
epidermal) that may not be fully captured by current stated choice approaches.
In recent years, exploring the relationship between the physiological state and
complex choice behavior has become an emerging area of research. As this field
grows, this session will include invited presentations designed to: - introduce difference mechanisms to measure state variables
in choice experiments, - how such variables can be used
to understand travel behavior and are incorporated in behavioral models - lessons learnt from existing case studies as well as
associated challenges and opportunities in terms of travel
behavior.
