In this session, we explore our past and look to the future related to transportation, land use and economic development research. In this session, we explore our past and look to the future related to transportation, land use and economic development research. The first half of this lectern is about the historical work of our preceding committees. After this, participants will be able to recognize cornerstone moments in the histories of transportation research in the respective and intersecting fields of land use and economic development. The second half of the lectern is about distinguishing our committee’s role from other TRB committees and exploring the future of our field. From this part of the lectern, participants will be able to identify and discuss current and future issues, perspectives, and opportunities in research within our committee and interdisciplinary fields.
