The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) plans a comprehensive update to its “Green Book”. Building on a 2016 resolution on “Flexibility in Design Standards”, the Green Book will include substantive changes supporting a “New Framework for Geometric Design.”  However, “GB8” will go beyond the 7th Edition to integrate research findings on performance-based design and functional classifications to include guidance on quantitative safety and multimodal performance. AASHTO conducted listening sessions and information reviews to establish a GB8 Vision; including a roadmap that prioritizes topics and considerations. This workshop is an opportunity for you to help support and enhance the GB8 Vision and roadmap.
