Nearly 1.3 million people die annually on the world's roads, and 20-50 million sustain non-fatal injuries. Agencies and organizations express concern over transportation related fatalities and mobilize to achieve zero fatalities, yet trends continue in the wrong direction. This workshop will discuss necessary steps to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for road safety, including the Safe System approach. Participants will learn from case studies of integrated approaches to prevent needless human loss and tragedy.
