Transportation agencies are increasingly expanding the use of their existing rights of way to accommodate multiple modes such as bus rapid transit, express bus, high occupancy vehicles, light rail, streetcars, bicycle lanes, shared-use paths, and enhanced pedestrian access. This session, featuring heads of state departments of transportation in the United States, will discuss organizational, policy, procedural, and operational decisions that agencies face in accommodating additional modes and users within their existing rights of way.
